Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the desired audio files on the PC
- Copy and paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones and/or Notifications folder(s)
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps below if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
- Click Download for Mac and follow the on-screen steps to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB and enable File Transfer
- Launch Kies, click the Folder icon associated with Internal memory or External memory
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag and drop the files inside Kies to begin the transfer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the Trash Can
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Assign Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & Notifications
- Under Sounds, tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone
- Tap Add ringtone and select Sound picker
- Choose Always or Just once
- Select the audio files you want to add to the ringtone list
- Tap Done to confirm
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & Notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtone & sound
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone
- Press Back to confirm
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phones internal memory.
- Launch Contacts
- Select the desired contact
- Tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK > Save
Change the Notification Sound:
- Launch Settings
- Under Device, tap Sounds & Notifications
- Tap Ringtones and sounds
- Select a notification type and the desired notification sound
- Tap Back to confirm
