    Back Up & Restore App Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Tap “Backup & Restore”
    4. Tick the “Back up my data” check box to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
    5. Tick “Automatic restore” to allow app data and settings to be restored when reinstalling apps or signing in with your Google backup account

    Back Up & Restore Contacts Using a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Cloud and accounts”
    4. Go to “Accounts”
    5. Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account.

    Back Up contacts on the SD Card:

    1. Open “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    3. Tap “Contacts to display” if necessary, and switch to “All contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Select “Export to SD card”
    6. Review the backup file name for future use
    7. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Restore Contacts from SD Card:

    1. Open “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    3. If necessary, switch to “All contacts”
    4. Tap “Import/ Export contacts”
    5. Tap “Import from SD card” and select the backup file you want to restore
    6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process

    Back Up Media Files on the Phone:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “My Files”
    3. Tap “My Device” > “Menu”
    4. Tap “Share”
    5. Select the media files you want to back up and tap “Share”
    6. Select the desired sharing location to confirm

    Restore Media Files from an SD Card:

    1. Launch “My Files”
    2. Go to “SD Card”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Edit”
    4. Tick the check boxes next to the media files you want to restore
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “My device”
    6. Tap “Move here”
    7. Select the folder name or tap “Create folder”
    8. Tap “Move here” to confirm and restore media files

    Back Up & Restore Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Navigate to and copy the media files on the phone storage
    5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer storage
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    NOTE: To restore media files from the computer, follow the first 3 steps above and then copy the media backup files from the PC storage and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) from where they originate.
