Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu
- Go to Settings
- If necessary, tap Contacts to display and select All contacts
- Tap Import/Export contacts > Import from SD card
- Tap OK to confirm
Restore Media Files from the SD Card:
- Launch My Files
- Tap SD Card > Menu > Edit
- Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap Menu > Move > Internal storage
- Tap Move here and select the desired folder name
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin or the Media directory
- Once done, safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Connect the Samsung phone to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac and access Back up / restore
- Go to the Restore tab
- Tick the boxes next to Photos, Music and other media file types you want to restore
- Click Restore and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
- After the process is complete, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject the device
- You can now safely disconnect the phone
