Re: SCH-A950, mp3s and transflash card

You might try making a folder on the Transflash called "Media" and put a test MP3 file in there to see if the phone sees it in its media player.

How can you delete ringtones that you have transferred to the phone via the method described above?

    "Nanashi

Unfortuanetly, this is due to a contract with Verizon and Microsoft (the V-Cast software devs)... One you use V-Cast for the first time, the phones firmware is updated, removing MP3 playback... "

When I got my SCH-950 in Feb V-Cast wasn't available yet but my phone still would not play MP3's. I beat my head against the wall until I came here (Thanks guys!) Verizon must have pulled everything on the shelf & updated them. The funny thing was the salesman was really pushing the V-Cast too.

Re: SCH-A950, mp3s and transflash card

Hi. I know this is an old post but I just got a A950 and a microsd card. I have read all that i could and tried the things people have suggested as solutions to getting your own ring tones working.

I've tried putting mp3's and wma files onto my microsd card in the My_Music, My_Ringtones, My_ etc etc folders but they never show up on the phone. Could anyone give me a hand here?

I just tried the mid method and it appears that it only shows up if i put files in the MEDIA folder. Then the files show up in the My Sounds folder on my phone. I guess I don't need help anymore... THANKS FOR THE GREAT POSTS!!! (earlier in the thread)

Question..Step 4 renaming the file does not change the file format from MMF. How do you do that? Also, did I read other post that V-Cast software update makes this process unusable? I didn't see where on the phone to add a ringtone. They don't make it easy do they...

    4. Save the file to your desktop (or anywhere) as a MMF. Go and rename the file to .MID For example rename MYSONG.mmf to MYSONG.mid. Now copy the mid file to your transflash card.
