yup if you just bought it you can use this code. *2767*2878# when you put in your cingular sim and it brings up the wrong card error put that in and there ya go it should restart and bring it up as cingular. just when you turn off your phone you have to put the code back in. i have the X495 to and use it for cincinnati bell.

hi, i am curious, is there a way to just put the code and it stays? Everytime i turn off the cell phone and turn it put again it states wrong card. I will then enter the code again to unlock it each time.

Get the phone unlocked. I have heard that after 3 months of service tmobile will unlock phones for you, even non tmobile phone. But I've also heard they have recently stopped unlocking cingular phones. It's worth a phonecall to see. If not then get the phone unlocked by another company. A google search will probably turn up results for less than $20.
