I have a bit of a problem with my new Samsung A840. I bought a cable/software package on ebay from "infinite wireless" and have been using it to put ringers on my phone.
The problem is that when I edit a contact on my phone, and try to specify which ringer to use for that contact - I cannot select all of the ringers - some are missing.
The kicker is that when I go to "downloads"->"ringers" on the phone, all of the ringers are there and they all play properly. But for some reason when I try to assign one to a contact, the phone doesn't display them all. Currently I can only see 8/15 ringers when I try to assign one. Which ringers I can see changes when I download new ringers or erase old ones. I really hope this is not some stupid 3bit counter limitation.
When I use my BitPim software to edit a contact it lets me select any of the 15 ringtones. However when I specify which ringer to use in Bitpim, on my cell phone it always has the default ringer selected - so it doesn't work.
I sent Samsung an email for help. And they sent me one back to call them - but I'm at work and I can't call them now. Plus I'm worried that they won't support me because I loaded my ringers via a USB cable and 3rd party software.

Re: Problem with Samsung A840 ringers, please help
After getting to level 2 support at Samsung I found out that this is a software bug in version YH09. There may or may not ever be a fix. If you have this bug, please email samsung support asking them to get it fixed. The more of us who call and bug them - the better chance we have of a fix.
