I almost bought the usb cable from at&t. All I want to do is play mp3's. can i just get a memory stick and use that to transfer my current songs from my pc to the phone? or is there some sort of crack needed first? thanks in advance.

You could just transfer your files with a memory card and card reader.

if you have the memory card in your phone you can use it to download whatever you want including mp3 music and from your computer and then stick it in your phone and your phone will do the job of transferring the data for you. Good Luck
