Restoring Apps:

  1. Log into your Google account
  2. While on the home screen, tap the "Menu" key on your device
  3. Select "Settings"
  4. Tap "Google" and select "Sync all"
  5. Press the "Back" key on your smartphone
  6. Tap "Backup and reset"
  7. Check the "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore" checkboxes

Restoring Contacts from Your Google or Samsung Account:

  1. Log into your Samsung or Google account
  2. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Select "Google" or "Samsung"
  5. Tap your "email address" at the top of the display
  6. Mark the "Sync contacts" checkbox and then tap "Sync now"

Restoring Contacts from SD Card:

  1. Insert your SD card if necessary
  2. Press the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
  3. Select the "Contacts" tab
  4. Tap the "Menu" button on your device and select "Import / Export"
  5. Press "Import from SD card"
  6. Select the account containing your saved contacts
  7. Select "Import vCard file" then tap "OK"
  8. Tap the desired vCard file and tap "OK"


Restoring Media and Pictures

Restoring Media & Pictures Using Your Smartphone:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the home screen
  2. Select "My Files"
  3. Press "All files" and tap "extSdCard"
  4. Locate the folder containing your backed up media files
  5. Tap the checkbox located at the left of each desired folder
  6. Press the "Menu" icon located at the top-right corner of the display
  7. Tap "Copy"
  8. Touch "sdcard0" to access your handset's internal memory
  9. Navigate to the location where you wish to restore your files then tap "Move here"

Restoring Media & Pictures Using Your PC:

  1. Connect your smartphone to your computer using the USB cable
  2. On your smartphone, rag down the status bar and tap "Connect as a media device", then tap "Media device"
  3. On your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Navigate to the desired folder on your device. Note: the "Card" icon represents your SD card, while the "Phone" icon represents your smartphones built-in internal storage
  5. Copy the backup files located on your computer, then paste them in the desired folder located on your smartphone
  6. When finished, safely disconnect your smartphone from your PC

Restoring Media & Pictures Using Mac:

  1. Connect your phone to your Mac using the USB cable that came with your smartphone
  2. On your smartphone, drag your status bar down and tap "Connect as a media device" > "Media device"
  3. On your Mac, open Kies
  4. In Kies, click on the "Back up / restore" tab. If necessary, click the "Restore" tab
  5. Mark the checkbox associated with "Music", "Photos" and other desired categories (if available). Note: You can also checkmark the "Select all items" option
  6. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if they appear on-screen
  7. Once completed, safely disconnect your smartphone from your Mac
