    Sending or Receiving a Text

    1. From the Start screen, touch the Messaging tile.
    2. Or, in case the Messaging tile is no longer located on the Start screen, swipe left -> scroll down and touch Messaging.
    3. Now tap the Plus Sign icon (+).
    4. In the To field, enter the desired phone number or contact name. To select a contact from the phone book, touch the plus sign icon (+).
    5. In the message field, enter the desired text message.
    6. When done, tap the Send icon located at the bottom of the screen.
    7. The message is now sent.
    8. To open a newly received message, go to the Start screen and tap Messaging.
    9. Tap the desired message thread.
    10. The message is now displayed.

    Forwarding a Text

    1. From the Start screen, touch the Messaging tile.
    2. Or, in case the Messaging tile is no longer located on the Start screen, swipe left -> scroll down and touch Messaging.
    3. Touch the desired message thread.
    4. Tap and hold the message you wish to forward.
    5. Then tap forward.
    6. In the To field, enter the desired phone number or contact name.
    7. You can also edit the message if desired.
    8. When finished, tap the Send icon located at the bottom of the screen.
    9. The message is now forwarded.

    Sending or Receiving a Picture with Text

    1. From the Start screen, touch the Messaging tile.
    2. Or, in case the Messaging tile is no longer located on the Start screen, swipe left -> scroll down and touch Messaging.
    3. Now tap the Plus Sign icon (+).
    4. In the To field, enter the desired phone number or contact name.
    5. In the message field, enter the a text message.
    6. Then tap the attach icon located at the bottom of the screen.
    7. Select the desired attachment type. For the purpose of this tutorial we’ll select picture.
    8. Now tap the folder where the picture you wish to send is located.
    9. Tap the desired photo.
    10. To send the MMS (multimedia message), tap the Send icon.
    11. To receive an MMS, go to the Start screen and touch the Messaging tile.
    12. Touch the message thread.
    13. Tap the image from the message to open it.
    14. The image should now be displayed.

    Saving a Picture from a Text

    1. From the Start screen, touch the Messaging tile.
    2. Or, in case the Messaging tile is no longer located on the Start screen, swipe left -> scroll down and touch Messaging.
    3. Tap the desired message thread.
    4. Tap the picture message.
    5. Then tap the More icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
    6. To save the attachment, tap the More icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
    7. Then tap save to phone.
    8. The attachment is now saved.

    Updating Emergency Alert Settings

    1. From the Start screen, touch the Messaging tile.
    2. Or, in case the Messaging tile is no longer located on the Start screen, swipe left -> scroll down and touch Messaging.
    3. Then tap the More icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
    4. Touch settings -> tap emergency alerts -> tap Emergency alerts -> select the desired alert options. The only alert that you cannot disable is the presidential one.
