Hi All!
I am just new to this Board. Have seen a lot of interesting articles about cell phones, even these ones with a digital camera. But what about the Siemens S55?! Does nobody use it?
I just bought it and it is really cool. The cam option is very usefull. So in the normal mode, the cell phone is really small and you can get it in every pocket. If you need the cam you can get it together with your S55.
I think this is better than the Nokia solution for the digicam in the 7650!
What do you think about it ?
bye

Hi GoalGod yeh really good phones but I know a couple of people with the A50 and S55 and they tell me the buttons and nav is a bit fiddly but they have no other complaints.

I got an S55 today. It rawks. It has just everything.
And being able to explore the phone via explorer in Windows is awesome.
Just drag and drop files like Java and Mids right into the phone.
Works like a charm, and looks preddy

Hi I bought it too. Like 2 months ago. Its a very handsome phone But the thing I didnt like is there was no game included.
And Screen quality is low. 256 colors
Also most important thing is you get VERY LOW sapce for your files. Not even 1 MB.
Also it doesnt play MIDIs that are bigger then 50 kb.

I think the main advantage is the possibility to handle it like a device so that you can just transfer midi files to the mobile without having to call numbers...

and I have to add, that the display is not that bad, as you expect from a 256 color mode display... siemens gets the best out of it

I have an s55, and I find the tones are quiet. In fact - v frustrating that it starts quiet, and doesn't have a standard "ring ring" tone...
Anyone know of a midi tone that will sound like an old bell telephone? or can tell me if the s55 will play wavs etc?

Direct download of free S55 Games
Here you'll find a few Java games for the S55. The page is in Russian, so, to download, you just have to click (or "open in a new windows, better !) the link to the game, and click on the left button that appears in the next page.
then, just unzip the archive and upload the directory into the \Java\jam directory of the phone

Have fun !
