I have followed all the directions set by the people on here and at one point I was able to see the files changed to .mid format on the card but now I am not. I have the extensions showing, have correctly changed the extension from .mp3 to .mid, and yet I still can't see it on the memory card!!! I want to cry.

Good news! I have figured out how to get my own ringtones without a USB cable and without BitPim. Much less complicated if you ask me. I just used NCH Swiftsound to edit my music files. I cut the section I want, with a compression rate of 32000, and save it as a .wav file, using the lowest conversion rate. The sound quality is excellent! Afterward, I change the .wav to a .midi and am able to see the file in my phone after I transfer it to the microSD card. Yay for me!!!
