The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is a rare breed in the Android world, simply because it features a small (by today's standards) 4.3 inch display, but packs top-range hardware specifications. This makes the Z1 Compact rather unique, and if the reason why you preferred an iPhone instead of an Android gadget was the large size of most high-end Android smartphones, then the Z1 Compact is like a breeze of fresh air. Have you purchased one? Are you wondering how you can transfer your iPhone contacts? Look no more. Check out the guides below!

Use iTunes to Transfer iPhone Contacts:

iTunes is a great tool for syncing content, and you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, making it easier for you to transfer the contacts on your Xperia Z1 Compact.

    1. Open iTunes on your computer (if necessary, download iTunes from the Apple website)
    2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC
    3. Once connected, your iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it
    4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
    5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
    6. If you haven't added a Google account before, enter your Google account name and password. Otherwise, you can click "Configure" and change to a Google account that you've previously added
    7. Click "Apply". This will make iTunes sync the contacts with your account
    8. On your Xperia Z1 Compact, log in with the same account and allow it to sync the contacts with your device. (If you need to add the account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"

Use iCloud to Transfer iPhone Contacts:

iCloud is a backup service that can store your iPhone contacts onto your iCloud account. Assuming that you've taken advantage of this service before, then your contacts might've already been backed up. If so, you can transfer these contacts to your Compact by doing the following:

    1. On your computer's Internet browser, visit www.icloud.com
    2. Log in with your iCloud account and click "Contacts"
    3. From the list, select the contacts that you wish to share
    4. Next, click the icon shaped like a cog wheel and select "Export vCard"
    5. A VCF file containing your contacts will now be downloaded on your PC
    6. You can now do one of the two following steps:
      • Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts"
      • Connect your Z1 Compact to your computer via USB, copy the VCF file to your phone's "sdcard" directory and then: open the "Contacts" app, press "Menu" > "Import contacts" > "SD card" > select the location where to store the contacts > select the VCF file

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

My Contacts Backup is an iOS application that can be used to transfer contacts to an Android device via email.

    1. Use your iPhone to visit the App Store and download "My Contacts Backup"
    2. Open the app and tap "Backup"
    3. Next, tap "Email" to attach the backup VCF file to an email
    4. Send the email to your own Gmail address
    5. On your Xperia, open the email and download the VCF file in order to import the contacts onto your Android phone

    Using "Bump" to Transfer Contacts:

Bump is an app that enables you to easily transfer contacts via cloud. You don't need access to a computer for this method to work, but an Internet connection is required on both smartphones.

    1. Install "Bump" on your iPhone via the App Store
    2. Download the same app on your Sony handset via the Google Play Store
    3. Open the app on both devices
    4. If prompted, allow permissions
    5. On the iPhone, swipe to the contacts section and select the ones that you want to transfer
    6. After the "Bump Now!" label appears, you can lightly bump the two smartphones together
    7. If done properly, a "Connect" button will pop-up on both smartphones. Tap it and your iPhone contacts will be shared with your Xperia Z1 Compact
