Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Access Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Contacts
- Access All contacts
- Tap an account type and select the desired account to use for syncing the contacts
- Ensure the Contacts check box is ticked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data and contacts with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC
- Locate the media backup files on the computer and copy them
- Paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the directories from where they originate
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device form the USB port
