the reason that i stay with sprint is that most of my family and friends have sprint and i use maybe 1700-2100 mins of pcs 2 pcs mins a month, and i have the free and flex plan and still never use more that 300 mins a month, the thing is the pcs to pcs and since i get off work at 6, i can wait 1hr til 7 to start running my mouth and since i have a 2nd line i dont pay the 5$ a month for it, i love that they started the 7pm start time of nights, all other compainies still start at 9pm

But i will agree that there customer service, is pityful, the reps are uneducated and every time i call and ask the same question i get a differant answer, but the hold time are never that long.

i dont use vision, i feel that 15-20 $ a month for a crappy internet is unbelivable.

my suggestions when choosing a cell phone company is to go with the one that most of your family and friends have, that way u will save a lot of mins

I agree with choosing the one that most of your family has. My family has every different kind out there lol. The only other thing is it depends where you live. Their coverage here has always been great for me. Other companies I had wouldnt even work outside my house.

I've had many billing issues with sprint in the Boston area, they're always adding on strange charges it seems.

i've been with sprint for years. i think the customer service sucks though...i have to call several times to get someone that actually knows what they are talking about....and the plans are ok, there are other companys out there who definately have better ones....i just keep staying with them because of the phones and all my friedns have it (pcs to pcs minutes)

With unlimited Internet access for 15.00 per year. The company that I work for actually designs everything to do with cell phones (besides the phones) check out our web page Engineering Network International, Inc. So if you know of any engineers looking for a project tell them to come here. We have projects going right now for Cingular in Boston, AT&T in Texas and E-911 project that will begin in November for Verizons emergnecy calling
Actually you are talking about the regional plan for 1000 minutes for 49.99 or you are in afflicate market...the plan the other member was talking about is a nationwide retention plan...A special plan to retain a customer...750 minutes per month to use anywhere on the network...
If you want a Great Sprint phone go get yourself a SANYO 5600...The hotness!!!

Not to defend them but if you have a N400 yes your calls do drop you have one of the worst reception phone of the vision era...You need to do a handset upgrade and get a REAL phone...I have a 7400 I use about 2000 minutes total...had this phone for maybe 1 week since it just came out...I havent dropped a call yet...I used maybe 500 minutes....

Keep in mind I've been with SprintPCS for almost a decade thru all the ups & downs and I think I'll still stay with them cause I've been with them so long they give me good deals ... like 750 minutes for $39.99 a month ... but anyway ... here's my BIGGEST list of complaints with Sprint...

Sprint has the lowest cost per minute compared to the others, but their coverage is probably the worst since it's an all digital network.
So? You can roam onto analog.

(Just a little FYI for those of you who've been duped by the "digital is better" propoganda ... it's not ... it's just different way to transmit data, it's not better ... it is CHEAPER for the phone providers to do digital though ... so they make more money by cramming more people onto a line whereas an analog line can only be used by one person at one time ... which is why all the cell phone companies hyped digital ... to get you off their analog lines so they could start making some more money)
My calls in digital areas are unquestionably clearer than my calls in analog areas.

As soon as you loose a digital tower (which is all the time here in Texas) you switch over to analog roaming which rapes you with something like a $1 a minute.
.50/minute, but who's counting. Besides, you can get on a plan with roaming for just 5 bucks extra. Check out Fair and Flexible America.

No real Nokia phones (they have 2 cheap offerings, but not the good ones) ...
Nokia doesn't make a lot of great phones, but the 6225 isn't half bad. Camera, speaker phone, built-in FM radio...and its free with activation right now, which is always good.

I guess they think they can appease me by sticking a crappy camera on every phone and then sticking a "battery sucking" color screen on everything and charging me extra to call it "Vision"
There are free vision phones, and if you don't want Vision service, cancel it and save $15 a month.

And what's the deal with no BLUETOOTH! ... For cryin' out glavin' I think EVERYONE ELSE on the market has bluetooth but Sprint.
Your first valid complaint. Bluetooth should be here soon, though. That LG phone will be in stores any week now.

By the way, you don't speak for all of Texas. Houston has an area-wide plan that covers Texas for $45 for 1000, $60 for 2000, or $85 for 3000.

You can go through a million N400s and never get a good phone. Call 877-319-6489 and put in your PCS number and zip code and see if you qualify for an upgrade rebate. If you do, buy a new phone and get out of that N400.

    1) Nextel's rates are significantly higher than Sprint.
    2) The government levies the same taxes on both Sprint and Nextel.

Vision is $15 (Free for the first two months) for Unlimited Internet on the 1st phone, and $5 each for Unlimited Internet on the 2nd, 3rd , 4th, 5th phone on shared minute plans. Sprint is also rolling out high speed on the network this year, 300-500kbps.

I guess, you could try Cingular where Unlimited Internet is $24.99 (Free for the first month) And you can have high speeds of up to 110-150kbps.

some of the plans that are listed are old and you are comparing apples and ornges for plans there are 3 Genral plans in each area 1 Fair and Flexable 2 Free And Clear 3 Area Wide.

    Fair and flexable

Goes up as you use more minuts- you start at 300/500-.10, (or 450/650-.10 depending on your area) 700/1700-.05, 2000/3000-.05 they get charged per min at the cap of the teir (ammouts listed above). and is a nation wide plan. and free long distance within the USA.

    Free and Clear

This plans is for people who know how meny min they use. cuas if you go over its .40 a min for ovrage. the min usualy run 300, 500, 700, 1100, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3500. Again this is a nation wide plan. and free long distance within the USA.

    The best for last.

Area Wide. the area wide pland is for people who stay close to home and dont travle very much usualy within a state or 2 and want a lot of min this plan will provide you with 1000 min for 45 buck. but if you go out of your calling area to another state you will be charged at .50 cents a min for traveling fees. there are other min choices but this one is the most comon and sometimes the only one.
