Use pre-paid sim in any t-mobile phone?

i posted this in tmobile a few weeks back but got no responses, can someopne help me?

If i got the tmobile pay by day plan sim card, could i use it in any tmobile phone or just the prepaid ones? could i use it in any unlocked sim phone? what could i use it in? also does the pay by day plan have a refill thing over some time period or it will stop working?

I don't use T-Mobile, but since they're a GSM carrier I would think the answer is yes, but I cannot say for certain.

That's a question a T-Mobile user would have to answer.

I'm pretty sure that if a phone is locked to T-Mobile service you have to use a standard T-Mobile SIM with it (ie: not prepaid). So you would have to use either an unlocked phone or one that is specifically for T-Mobile's prepaid service.

I just switched from an older Nokia to the Moto W233 Renew. I was told since my old phone was prepaid, that all I had to do to activate the new phone (also prepaid) was swap the sim. I did and it worked, but I don't think it would've if it had not been prepaid-to-prepaid.

T-Mobile is a GSM network therefore you can put your SIM in ANY T-Mobile phone and it will work prepaid or not.

That's not true. T-Mobile phones start out locked to the T-Mobile network. So if you put a SIM card in from say AT&T, it will not work.
