    hi
I've been using a smart phone (tmobile comet - android) for about 3 months.
its a pay as you go phone,
It has wifi as well as an option to buy a web "day pass" for 24 hours of internet access.
When i am on the road i buy a web day pass.

Since about last week, i find i am able to browse, without purchasing a day pass, and my account balance has stayed the same, meaning i am not being charged.
I have turned off wifi, and its still working, no matter where i am (have not traveled too far but about 5 miles)

I should not be complaining, and i am not! but i am curious, how is this happening? and is there any way i can tell, when bandwidth is being used, whats it coming from?

I suggest you go to your online account and carefully review your last few billing statements.
