Seems like spamming to me - this is not an advert ng
If everyone with a mobile website posted on here, the NG would be unusable

Re: Testers wanted for new mobile site
It is of course is an advert. No denying that. However it's offering free
services to a group of people with a common interest. It's not a commercial
site, you actually physically cannot even pay for anything yet.

I get an error message:
"Server Error in '/' Application.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
Object reference not set to an instance of an object. "
so physically could not pay for anything even if I wanted to.
I note the use of the word "yet" above.
Anyhow, if it is a free resource and I can actually see it, then there
should be no problem linking it in the group.

Re: Testers wanted for new mobile site
The test URL was in the original post but my signature points to the
previously unset domain. Not very clever on my part! Just go to
www.mobiletemple.co.uk and all should be ok.
Yes the 'yet' was intentional. I really don't mind offering most of the
services for free. This isn't a commercial venture. If it turns out that
way then fine but to be honest I really feel the bottom has kind of fallen
out of this market. Certainly unless you're a big, well resourced player
(Jamster etc.). There are what seems like hundreds of sites all piggy
backing on a handful of content providers each with their own fairly dull,
poorly done site.
Sending SMS costs money. No two ways about it. If someone wants content
delivered to their phone I'm happy to provide most of it for free but I'm
not going to pay for the SMS too.
Also there's bandwidth to consider. MP3's, images are very disk, bandwidth
hungry. My system also allows you to put your own files on the web too so
that's all space that has to be paid for too.
Anyway what I'm saying is for the moment at least unless you want to send
SMS messages my stuff won't cost anything. I want the content to be driven
by it's users so the submissions side of things will become important.
I think there's some great features here. Good design and a fair mentality
behind the economics. Ultimately the web community will decide if it's a
useful service or not. All feedback is very welcome.
