Hi,
I am trying to unlock a Nokia 6230i on T-Mobile and the codes I have been
given by two providers have both failed. The codes I was given were the ones
that begin like #pw+<long number>+7w. So far no codes have worked. Have
T-Mobile done something more unusal to the phone to lock it ? Any other
providers anyone could recommended that had their TMobile 6230i unlocked. So
far I have tried MobileFun and www.2u.co.uk.
After I have entered the last character of the code (# in my case), nothing
happens. No message appears. I was expecting the phone unlock to happen
automatically after pressing the last #.
I also tried their suggestion of unlocking with the SIM card inserted, but
the code they gave me is too long to enter into the "Enter restricton code"
box. If I try the code with the #PW+ stuff and the +7w at the end it does
not work either. I only tried that once though - Don't want to use my
attempts!
Thanks
Chris

any different from the ones you have
Enter codes #PW+ etc (#PW+ are all multiple button pushes on the hash key)

Re: Unlock Nokia 6230i on T-Mobile
Thanks for the link. Shame the codes don't work. I have tried the different
box serials. Not sure which one to choose, also there are 3 different
T-Mobile networks. How can I tell which one I should use ? I don't have the
original box left either so I am not sure which box serial I should use.
Inside handset I have the following
Model: 6230i
Type: RM-72
Code: 0524422
Regards
Chris

Re: Unlock Nokia 6230i on T-Mobile
Thanks I came across that one too, but still no luck. From what I am reading
in various forums I don't think the 6230i can be unlocked that easily

Re: Unlock Nokia 6230i on T-Mobile
Have you considered nipping down to your local street market, or phone
shop or sunday boot fair? All of these are places where a simple
unlock can be performed on your 6230i with a clip and cable. Normally
cost you a tenner or less.

Its a piece of cake with a clip & cable or PC+software & cable. I had
one unlocked and de-branded one earlier this year with a UFS box so
it can be done easily enough. The key codes can be problematic, and
you only have 5 tries before you have to resort to the hardware
method.

Re: Unlock Nokia 6230i on T-Mobile
Use Griffin Box for unlocking. 6230i can 100 % be unlock with using
griffin box. when you go to your local high street shop ask them to use
Griffin Box.

Yep, or by UFS, or Jaf or whatever.

Why? There are plenty of decent solutions around, and all of them can
handle the 6230i (although the vast majority of cables available for them
are absolute ****e).
