Please can someone help me with what I hope will be a simple question.
I want to use my Nokia phone as a modem to allow an Ipaq to dial up the
internet if away from a wireless hotspot.
Ipaq has 802.11b, bluetooth & infrared, but phone (supplied by work) is
Nokia 3100 which has no bluetooth nor infra red.

Nokia is used a lot with its in car kit with pop-port connector so have to
stick to Nokia & I don't want to be swopping SIMS around.

I'm drowning in options, but none seem to be much good:

1-Some sort of serial or IR-ended cable between phone & Ipaq (haven't found
    one yet)

2-Get a slot-in modem for Ipaq (but presume you'd have to swop SIMS)

3-Use Nokia AD-5B bluetooth audio adaptor (but it may be that this just
passes audio to a headset, not a data connection to Ipaq)

4-Buy a simfree newer nokia with popport and bluetooth or infrared (which is
    cheapest?)

Please can you suggest which is viable or best?

    Thanks

Would be my choice, you would also need your SIM GPRS and/or GSM data
    enabled if not already.

That's the best / only option available.

One of these, I believe, will do the job:

Decent 'business' type phone with Bluetooth and GPRS, which is exactly
what you want. Not sure what defines a 'pop port' so you'll have to work
    that out for yourself.

IMHO, they're currently a bargain handset, given that the above is a
    SIM-free price.

Would require the incar holder to be changed, a 6230i or 6822 would
use the same holder as a 3100.

Thanks Sam & Steve, really good of you to help me.
Sounds like I'll just have to look for a suitable SIM only, although that
one quoted is more than I wanted to spend.. Will keep looking...
    cheers
