Hi,
I've bought a second hand Nokia 6680. the guy I bought it off stated
that they had contacted 3 and got the unlock code from them. This phone
has the annoyance that you cannot press the dial button from within the
contacts list and have it work, it may work once or twice, but then the
phone needs a reboot to work again.
I took the phone into CPW in Leeds (as they're a service centre) to
get it flashed. The guy looked at it and stated that even if they
flashed it, it would become locked again. AFAIK this is utter crap, but
I need to make sure that this is not the case.
The firmware version is:
V 2.04.15
04-03-05
RM-36
Thanks,
Luke.

Maybe it's different for 3 phones, but I've just had the new generic
firmware version flashed onto my 6680, which was recently unlocked from the
Vodafone network. It worked fantastically well - all problems solved, and
it's like having a new phone. And it didn't become locked again...
CPW are ****. Find a smaller Nokia Service Centre near you for a cheaper and
more personal service.

Got it sorted at Radiophone services in Armley. Flashed with generic,
but V 4.04.07. Full details here:

Just had a problem with sending a text message which kept failing until
I rebooted...I'll see if this persists and if so go back and get it
flashed to the newer one once he finds the firmware ;-)
