I need to restrict the use of a mobile phone. It is an Orange MR30
    Motorola on Virgin tariff.

I think the best way to do it is to use the sim pin code so only
authorised users can switch it on and make calls. Trouble is I have
never set a pin and have no idea what it might be.

If I ask Orange for the PUK code for the sim will this enable me to
    choose a new pin?

I would prefer it so people have to enter a code just to make a call
as they will have to switch the phone off again to activate the sim
    lock again.

The phone is for emergency use in a club but we are worried it might
    be stolen and mis-used.

    Thanks

    Jules

The default Orange SIM PIN is usually 1111

Only if you enter the PIN wrong three times. You'd then enter the PUK,
and be prompted afterwards for a new PIN.

Use PIN2 to set up a fixed dialling. If the phone is stolen, the SIM
will only call out to numbers you've authorised.
