A number port from o2 to Orange was meant to happen on Monday 12th. I've
done number ports all over the place many times before (same number in
    question).

Orange have still managed to not get it working since then. The latest claim
is that there's been a fault developing since last week Tuesday affecting
thousands of their customers. Problem with Orange but also countrywide
    affecting other networks?

Anyway, how much truth is there in this claim? Is it basically a human in
the "IT Department" at Orange that is going through each port one by one and
    fixing the routing?

It's really annoying being out of my main number. Thankfully I don't use it
for work - Business customers must been hugely effected.

Thanks for your post - very useful.

As business telecoms, what kind of compensation are you, or your customer,
    expecting?

Orange's screw up effects your business as well. Will they do anything for
    you?

The latest for me is that apparently the fault has been fixed and I now have
to wait the famous 24 hours.

But, then calling my number from another phone and someone else picks up!
Their port has also gone wrong and he couldn't understand how they gave him
my number and so on. He says his fault will be fixed in 2 hours.

Not sure what to do here. Will call Orange again now, but ultimately I am
worried about losing that number all together.

When did Orange go so downhill? I only left them previously 6 months ago
(after 5 contracts every year for 4 years).

Hope it works out for you Simon.
