I have an old Nokia 3310 which has a O2 PAYG sim in, which the wife uses for
the odd telephone competion.
While charging it up, my young son has managed to block the SIM by punching
in random numbers at the security switch-on screen.
The problem I have is that I have no idea what the phone number is as, like
I say, it's only used for a specific purpose. There is still around ?10
worth of credit on the card.
Is there any way to recover this?
TIA

You could ring O2 Pay & Go customer services from a fixed line and
supply them with the SIM card number. They should be able to provide
you with a PUK code (if that's what your SIM is still asking for).
And the phone number, if you want it!
If it's beyond the stage of asking for a PUK code, you may need to get
O2 to send you a new SIM.

Have a look on O2's site. I managed this when I forgot that I had changed
phones when travelling abroad and could get a PUK of the web site using a
number. It may tell you how to get a PUK from the number on the back of the
SIM (probably the IMEI).
Don't let your son enter the PUK, 10 misses and the card is dead.
