GTPv0 vs GTPv1

Hi all,

On wikipedia, it says that "Version 0 [of the GRPS Tunnelling
Protocol, GTP] is going out of use and being replaced by version 1 in
almost all networks."

Does this mean that I can simply focus on GTPv1 and not GTPv0 since it
has become obsolete, or is GTPv0 still commonly found and cannot be
ignored?

Depends ... as an end user you wouldn't encounter the protocol, are you
e.g. expecting to manufacture a GPRS device, or interface directly to a
GPRS network?

I haven't seen GTPv0 in commercial networks for a few years. But, then
I tend to only work with Huawei SGSN/GGSN's and GTPv1.

If you're taking a longer term view ... take a look at LTE.
