Hi
I want to get a new mobile phone and use Asda mobile as it has very cheap
rates. The handsets they have on the site are a bit lackluster, I'm
probably thinking about getting a Samsung Soul U900. I think there is an
unlock code for this but it resets the IMEI number. I've been thinking
about getting it as sim-free which I may do if I can find it cheap enough.
What I wanted to ask is is there any provider that do free or cheap unlocks
and if I get a branded phone can I definitely use it on Asda mobile.
Asda do use Vodafones network so I thought if I got a vodafone phone that I
could just put an Asda sim in and it would work, but I read otherwise, does
anyone else have any experience unlocking your phone for asda mobile?
Thanks

Buy any PAYG from CPW with £10 credit, use it up, then get an Asda SIM.
All PAYG phones from CPW are open.

Wow thanks never knew that! Just tried my vodafone sim in the "orange"
phone I bought from there and it worked!

There seems to be one potential problem, at least with O2 PAYG K810i I
bought
from CPW.
WAP starts on Google Search page as a default and I have not succeeded in
resetting the home page to Orange World.
I have to go to Orange World via this default start up page.
