Not long ago the very first rumors concerning a slightly redesigned Sony Xperia S have surfaced. Now this supposed new addition to Sony's smartphone lineup has surfaced once again, boasting a new range of colors and slightly boosted performances.

As you may already know the Sony Xperia S has been launched earlier this year with a Snapdragon S3 CPU running at 1.5 GHz and Gingerbread out of the box, alongside a promise that Ice Cream Sandwich is on its way.

However, since the Xperia S was supposed to be the manufacturer's high-end device, it fell somewhat short considering the fact that the HTC One S which is HTC's mid-range device boasted a better CPU ( S4 instead of S3), Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and a few other pros.

That being said, Sony has decided to try and make the Xperia S more competitive by overclocking the CPU to 1.7 GHz from 1.5, make it so that it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and throw in a couple more colors for those interested in customization.

The idea of a Sony Xperia SL was born and now it appears that the device in question has been caught on camera wearing silver "clothing". Although in the past the SL was rumored to come with two more colors –pink and blue- it now looks like the blue flavor has been dropped and replaced by silver.

As for when exactly will the Xperia SL be available for purchase remains to be seen, but since Sony is expected to make an appearance in Berlin later this month at the IFA show, we're pretty confident that the SL will be unveiled then.
