Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  3. Next open “Settings” and tap “Display”
  4. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use – such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS – to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Location” for GPS settings
  4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot”
  7. Turn the feature Off

Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Accounts”
  2. Select an account type and the desired account
  3. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “apps” and go to “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  5. To remove the app, tap “uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone” > “System updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update (NOTE: the update process will require you to reboot the device at least once)
