I am using Fido Prepaid with a Nokia E61 phone. For the last 2 months, I have been accessing emails through wap.fido.ca, but it stopped working a few days ago. This happens to both my Yahoo and Work email-boxes. Specifically, it stalls at "connecting to mailbox", and eventually gives "General - operation time out" or "Connection disconnect - mailbox idle for specific time".
On the other hand, email connection still works if I connect using Wifi instead of fido (wap) - which suggests it not my mailbox settings that caused the problem.
I have verified the setting as follows:
APN: wap.fido.ca
Proxy serv. address: 205.151.011.011
Proxy port number: 8080
user/password: fido
Another note - while I cannot access my mailboxes, I CAN use the wap.fido.ca connection for internet/wap browser - this suggests that my wap connection should be okay too!?
This is really puzzling, especially when everything WAS working before. I am of course helpless as Fido and Nokia are both pointing fingers at each other (E61 not a Fido phone).
