Dunno but may explain rumors of Jobs' indigestion.

    OBVIOUSLY a scam.

It says ´Works on all carriers!´

Yeah like it works on Verizon and T-Mobile. Get Real.

    Now Go Away.

FAQ says it won't work with TDMA, so it is clearly GSM.

Why do I suspect this to appear on the Eastern District of Texas
Federal Court docket for patent infringement.

Well..it could be CDMA as TDMA won't work with CDMA.

    Just an off hand comment.

If you read their FAQ they qualify it to "all GSM carriers" and
specifically state it won't work on CDMA carriers like Verizon.

    > Yeah like it works on Verizon and T-Mobile. Get Real.

Um, T-Mo is GSM- it'll work with them fine. I think you meant "Verizon
    and Sprint."

    > Now Go Away.

Don't be so quick to dismiss it- it's in the price range of what you wanted
to spend on an iPhone but AT&T won't allow you! ;-)

Good question- these phones turn up on eBay quite a bit from offshore
resellers, generally with very vague specs. Some claim they run WinMo, but
from the screenshots it looks like they simply lifted some WinMo wallpaper-
the rest of the shots don't seem to be WinMo based-, nor is Office Mobile
or Exchange support listed as features.

It looks like another "CECT-168" model of iPhoney clone.

    > If all the iPhone apologist fanbois can come up with is "yeah, but it
    > doesn't have WiFi," then you've lost.

Why? It seemingly lacks installable apps, iTunes support, or multitouch -
it looks like a pretty typical feature phone with a ripped-off UI.
Geeks.com is currently hawking a media player for $80 that ripped off the
iPhone/iPod Touch UI. A touchscreen and iPhony icons hardly makes it a
    direct replacement!

Find out what? You've bought a cheap Chinese knockoff like the cheaply-
constructed $50 "Nano-style" MP3/video players eBay is full of?

The CECT-168 is tri-band, this one looks like quad-band. IIRC, CECT-168
is running some bastardized version of Linux.

    That's sad.

    A nice feature!

    >or multitouch -

This one is take it or leave it with the built-in apps, although it does
make some games far more interesting.

Sure because its such a scam phone.

Details on all of these iPhoneys are sketchy. The original CECT-168 was
tri-band, but I think a quad-band model was eventually released (or else the
eBay sellers just lied about it- either seems a likely possibility!)

I noticed this "iClone" didn't mention 3G anywhere on the web page. I
suspect this web seller knows as little about the phone's specs as we do!
    ;-)

I always find it amusing when the Americans sue some little company in
Shanghai in an American court. It's almost as if they think the
Illuminati's New World Order has already taken over and the East Texas
    Federal Court had any effect on a company in Shanghai....(c;

Why didn't Apple sue in Cupertino? Was the judge laughing too hard?

LOL, the last thing I am is an iPhone apologist, but Wi-Fi is a critical
feature of a smart-phone if you plan on using the web where there is no
3G, but that has Wi-Fi (like tens of thousands of hotels and motels
    around the world).

I'm waiting for the new HTC which is due out in a week or so on Sprint,
and by December on Verizon. It's much more fully featured than the iPhone.

    Wi-Fi is a no-compromise requirement for a smart-phone. That's why it
was my first comment. It's the first thing I look for on all iPhone
    competitors.

You need to keep up. It's been discussed extensively here. The CECT
phones have been out for at least a year. There have been quad band and
tri-band, and tri-band marketed as quad band.
