My V551 is giving me some problems with voice quality. On both incoming and
outgoing audio the phone is producing some distortion and poor quality
sound. This is true for me and for those who call me, as my friends often
complain they can barely understand me. Can I purchase a new phone,
probably a Motorola, but I'm open to suggestions, and pop my Cingular 64k
SIM card in it with no issues with Cingular? What do I need to know about
this? Thanks for any help.

Yes you can buy an unlocked or a phone locked to Cingular, pop your SIM card
in and start talking. Be aware you need a quad band phone, a tri band will
not work in some areas of Cingular's service, it MUST have the 850 band. May
I recommend the V3I, it's a great phone.
Oh be sure it's a GSM phone too.
