Recently bought a SE 610 (on Vodaphone PAYT) basic phone functions
work but there is a problem with the camera. After taking a picture
the phone says "please wait" & locks up - only way to get going again
is to take the battery out & then restart (it has hung a couple of
times on other functions but the camer does it everytime).
So - anyone had this problem & know of a fix? (or should I just demand
a refund...)
Thanks

Hmm sounds like a software problem. Maybe an upgrade will do the job. Try to
find out where the nearest SE service centre is (by looking on the website
or calling SE) and bring your phone in. It can be done while you wait, but
not all service centres do that (can take 1 day max).

That is a firmware (phone's resident software) bug; mine did that too when
it was new a couple times. Return it to the place of purchase and they'll
get the phone reflashed for you. It'll take a couple days, hopefully they'll
offer you a temporary replacement in the meanwhile.

Thanks for the information people.
Decided to return the phone & claim a refund. Shame - seemed like a
basically decent bit of kit. BUT - we shouldn't have to put up with
stuff being put on the market in this condition. Completely bloody
useless in the condition it was first sold to me - this is not
acceptable from a major company like SE.

Re: T610 - Camera Fault
Then don't buy any new phone from any company, all of them are puting "beta"
phones out...
Go for the 1-2 year old versions and you'll be happy

It's a shame it had to be like this :-(
The T610 is a great phone.

Actually, you shouldn't have been sold such an old phone in the first
place - current firmwares work just fine. Mine hasn't hanged since I got the
phone replaced like a week after I got it, way back in august last year.

Rofl! The software in phones of today are all more or less classified as
'work in progress'; the firmware's approaching the complexity of computer
operating systems. It's virtually impossible to make such software bug free
you know. Don't be too hard on SE, especially since you could easily have
had the problem fixed by doing like I told you.
