Got a T630 for my girlfriend over the weekend. (How romantic can one
possibly get for Valentine's Day Really nice, I did not get T610
because of the lame screen that may be fine in Sweden where it's
either dark or at least cloudy, but here in sunny Thailand you just
can't read the screen during the day.
I did look into T610 extensively so I knew pretty much what I (err,
she) would get with T630.
I like it a lot, like the looks and like the ease of use and like the
functions, etc. Got it to check and send e-mail and pair with my
other bluetooth stuff in no-time. Even MMS worked at the first try. I
really dislike MMS and especially the fact that it hardly ever arrives
as intended (or: at all), but for me is just happened to work and I do
get 10 of those MMS's free per month so I guess I should use them up.
At least you can just send text in an MMS as well. (For sending
pictures and sounds I of course use e-mail, much cheaper) Also
especially liked the organizer stuff, including the various timers.
One question tho: Is there a way to cut and paste text while writing
notes or e-mail? Of for example go to edit some contact phone number,
copy it to a clipboard and then paste it into an email later? When I
write emails I like to quote a little of what I'm replying to. Or just
generally move text around.. Or even from one application to another,
like copy something from a calendar entry and then paste it into an
email or SMS.
I did find out you cen select text by holding either the + or -
buttons on the side and then scrolling with the joystick, but then can
you cut/copy text as well?
Nokia 7650/3650/6600 and all use the pencil-button for this. (I read
more than a few reviews where reviewers asked why the pencil button
was there so prominently when it apparently does very little. (ITS TO
SELECT TEXT OR ITEMS IN A LIST, and then cut, copy, paste, delete,
send, print, etc them, DUHH!) Anyway, can one do this on T610/T630?
Oh yes, another thing I didn't like in T630 is the small text entry
area when writing emails or text messages. There's these ultra cool,
ultra smooth cute icons there, but frankly I'd appreciate maximum
screen real-estate a lot more, especially as T610/T630 screen isn't
all that big to begin with.
Other thing I noticed: You can't attach sounds to an email, only
pictures??? And I thought Nokia was bad for not allowing sending of
ringtones and games by Bluetooth/IR. With Nokia at least you can use
a 3rd party file manager and send absolutely any file) I even managed
to send some java game .jars to T630 and they just worked too!!
We're well on our way to a perfect world.
Oh yes.. last point of complaint.. that joystick.. Maybe it's a matter
of getting used to it, but my pac-man scores don't lie.. Does everyone
else have trouble with that joystick?
Cheers,
Han.

Maybe you already know:
In the Phone Numbers Menu highlight a number (i.e. home, work mobile,
others, fax,etc) & press :
* & 1 - to cut
* & 2 - to copy
* & 3 - to Paste
the numbers.
But unfortunately it only works in the phonebook.

Yup, thanks.. Found this in a Goolgle search.. Bummer that it doesn't work for
copying and pasting texts elsewhere..
