To cut a long story short, I bout a k700i and found to my disgust that it
has loads of branding on it. After being passed from singlepoint to
sonyericsson to vodaphone and then back to singlepoint I have been told I
have to lump my ****ty deal. Whats the point of having a colour mobile when
vodaphone only ise the colours red white and blue for their menu? Basically
I have really bad eyes and find it difficult to distingush between icons in
the menu as they are not colour. Can I claim against singlepoint for false
    advertising?

Also if I change the themes will I be able to change the icons or am I stuck
    with the tricolour menu?

    Hi
I think you are stucked with it , in forums on the net , there are a lot
    stuff regarding those branded K700´s
****ty - take it back to the dealer , get the refund or a non-branded phone!
Myself - has an perfect K700 non-branded , the difference is clear!

Can you change the theme(colour scheme) on that handset ? I know you can
with other SE handsets like the t610/t630, which also suffer badly from
    Vodafonization, etc.

I have been with vodacr*p for a while how and upgraded last week to the
k700i and made it clear I was taking my business elsewhere if the phone
arrived with their cr*p on it. the phone turned up with no bradning
whatsoever - its not as if they dont have them - you just have to let them
know that if they dont give you one you are taking your money elsewhere

btw - because the brading limits the intended functionality of the phone you
could try going down the legal avenue with them - lots of empty threats
    usually does the trick

I don't think so (if I'm thinking of the same menu icons), unless there's
someone out there that can do it by editing the xml code? However you will
be able to change the colour scheme and also the some pics e.g title, menu,
wallpaper etc. (can also change the background image where the icons are
    displayed).

or you could try the forum of bluejack addict as there is new ones
popping up there and a few of the members could make you one if you
    asked them nicely ;-)

    http://www.bluejackaddict.co.uk/forum/

Other than that just keep searching weekly on google as im sure it
wont be long till a few more sites with themes for the k700i pop up.

    good luck!!

I phoned singlepoint before the 14 days was up after ordering my k700i and
they gladly changed the phone to a unbranded one and took my other one back
with no cost incurred, my brother also done the same.
The unbranded ones are so different, its amazing how vodafone can get away
with it, all I wanted was to be able to assign mp3's to ringtones,
apparently they are removing this bar in a future firmware upgrade but dont
    hold your breath.

Singlepoint also said they were aware of this problem and may be pulling the
line of k700i untill vodafone sort the issue out

    Hi All

I spoke to vodafone yester about this issue - they are aware of the problem
(you need to talk to one of their technical weenies in order to get that
information) and are inte process of altering the customisation in order for
the functionality that doesn't work to work - they intend to release it en
masse 'over the air' by the end of the month. I went down the legal route
with them and this what they came back with. They should be sending
notification of the update via message nearer the time - i'll give them
until the end of the month to see what happens before making my next move.

As for themes - try mobile9 for starters - esato.com as well

    Enjoy

    The Prof
