I've had a t68i for 18 months, and now my transmission is distorted -
distant end say I sound like I'm underwater

.. It sounds the same when using my bluetooth headset so can't be the
    actual microphone.

Any ideas on things to try?

Anyone had a similar problem successfully repaired?

Willing to pay for a repair up to a certain price point but then new
units look a better bet. I've got a few matching accessories so would
    sooner keep t68i.

Another option is a clean used T68i on eBay.
