No

It's a firmware version. It's one of the latest and is pretty ok.
There are two newer versions with slight improvements, exept for one
big improvement: when u are using a caller picture and that person is
calling u, the phone waits for a second after you took the call. This
problem is solved in the latest firmware. Go to a service centre to
get it updated for free in the first year.

Some tweaks like turn of the backlight sooner, and some things under
the roof.

Not possible.

Unless you mean that battery indicator bug that people have said the newer
firmware fixes, as some people were experiencing that their k700 didn't last
even a day, the newer firmware should have fixed this.

R2AE033 is available in service centres. R2L001 is available on the
online home update service.

R2AE033. This updates camera software to ver 3.10 and supposedly
switches the noise off. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference to
R2AA003 but haven't used it much since updating.

Is there a good way to find out when this update is available on the
ericsson website? unfortunately the phone get's updated everytime I try,
even if the software version hasn't changed (it shouldn't be that way,
should it?)

I believe the SE US to still be at R2L. I upgraded mine using Total
Multi Server.

AIUI they do have it at the service centres now. You will know the
answer by now of course!
