I have a k700i phone which is very nice in many ways. However, the
sound of camera when I take pictures is so ridiculus and annoying. Is
there anyway I can stop this sound? It does not help to turn on
"silent" mood.

I've herd that you can phone a free number (like the credit check on pay as
you go phones) and then take the photo.

There are other posts on that forum as well saying the same thing.

My phone stops making that stupid noise when put on silent mode, but not
sure why all K700i phones don't do that.

It just depends on which firmware you have - may vary between different
'suppliers' for example (e.g. Vodaphone probably have their own specific
firmware)

Re: Stopping camera sound in k700i
Its going to get worse. It seems legislation to clamp down on 'upskirt'
photos is proposed - because of the ubiquitous (love that word) nature
of cameraphones. So they are all likely to get noisy.
Daft thing is I have this tiney 3mpixel camera that can be silent if it
wants

if you make a phone call say to 616 on o2 (which is a free number) and
take a photo whilst the phone is making the call then the phone is
silent ;-)
