Optimized Charging coming up every few seconds - cure ?

I have seen this reported before but didn't read the answers, is there a
cure for this problem ?
The battery is fairly old, but still works and charges up well.
Model No. A2628s.

The only time I've seen this on more than a couple of Ericsson/SE phones has
been when the contacts on the base of the phone need cleaning or the
contacts on the charger. Please SE, can we have a mini USB port on *all*
future models please?
