    Hi.

Is the T300's joystick suppose to break when it is brand new?

I bought a T300 today that the dealer said was brand new, well, it was
not brand new. There was even a wallpaper of some girl on it. Also,
the microphone was not working and the joystick stuck a lot (does it
    normally do that)?

I returned the phone. I was given a loner and told he would have a new
phone for me in a few days. How can I know that the next phone is truly
    new?

no, he isn't. But I think that question's a bit rhetorical.

    You may enter the service menu by pressing > * < < * < * (with > and
< showing the joystick direction to point at), go to point 3 (Service
Tests in Germany), then to point 9 (Total Time phoned) and the handset
will show you the amount of time it's been used for talking. If this
is not low to zero (it must not be zero for some quality testing) it's
    surely been used before.

There is also a joystick click counter somewhere in the same menu. A much
better way of assessing wear on the phone, although in your case it's either
some or none. They should have a keystroke counter too. Ericsson was
brilliant to come up with this, too bad they can't put that brain power into
    building more reliable phones.

my T68i has the joystick counter but my T300 doesn't, all it has is
    that "Total Talking Time-Timer".

    My T300-firmware is R1G001, what's yours?

BTW: I have no idea, if one can reset that.

    First: Top Posting sucks.

You do enter the service menu correctly by moving the joystick right,
    pressing * left, left, *, left, * ?

    What's your firmware version?

Well, switched my phone to english, the menus now read: Service tests,
    Total call time

    HTH

    Sushii

    BTW: my firmware is R1G001.

Mine is version R1C001, then below that it says prgCXC125636. Mine is on
T-Mobile service in the US. At the bottom of the SW info screen, it says:
    Customization MS
    CDA 102086/8

In the main service menu, I select Service Tests (3), then Joystick Counter
    (9).

Anyone know what the "real time clock" thing does? Also, mine has "Text
Labels" on the main menu, which is a list of all the text warnings, labels,
messages, etc, the phone ever shows (like battery charging, or call
forwarded). Won't let me change them though, I get booted out of the menu.
