I'm seeing some wierd stuff happening when connecting to my P800 over
Bluetooth... however - it works, so maybe anyone else having problems
    might benefit from this.

I have SyncStation installed, and have usually used IR to sync my
phone to Outlook up to now - because I've been having problems getting
it syncing over Bluetooth. What happens (using my MSI-6769 USB BT
adaptor with modified TDK 1.3.2.7 software), is this:

    - I browse to My Bluetooth Devices, P800, and double-click on the
serial port. It activates (turns green).
    - The P800 shows a BT transfer... at which point, the laptop reports
that the connection failed, as it could not connect to the remote
device. Click OK, and the connection is torn down on both sides. This
is surprising, since PIM/FTP transfers work with no problem
    - Then... for some reason, the P800 initiates a serial connection to
the laptop from it's side. The laptop asks for clearance (which I
grant), and they then successfully establish a serial connection -
    with the P800 originating.

So - by setting SyncStation to listen, not on the P800's BT virtual
serial port, but on the Laptop's Virtual Serial port, the system will
then initiate a synchronisation. It then keeps the connection, until I
try and break it (usually by selecting 'Disable' for the laptop's
serial port, which is not so neat).

This is reminiscent of the old(?) callback systems, where you'd dial a
modem on a remote system, log in, and then the remote system would
drop the line and call back on the number that you were supposed to be
on. Obviously this is co-incidence - I doubt there's any gain in this
approach in a BT system - but I can't work out a). Why the connection
fails, and b). Why the P800 then makes the attempt from it's end.
    Anyone know?

I don't know why, but it does the same exact thing over here.

Do you have the same setup? Which USB dongle / Bluetooth software do you have?

I've dropped SonyEricsson an email, but they'll probably say it's a PC issue...

I am using a Belkin PCMCIA adapter in my TabletPC

Funny thing is after it fails (as you stated) it turns right around and
makes the connection anyway and works flawlessly after that.
