Ive googled on this and cant find any info
on success in doing this for my P800. (n.b. It
works with a GPRS account fine).
Ive got both the cable and bluetooth setup
well on my laptop, but cant work out
how to setup the P800 to use the laptops
Bluetooth network access services (uses
the internet connection sharing of WinXP).
Any pointers or just too annoyingly hard?

It doesn't work with Internet Connection Sharing: that was the mistake I
made for a while too
If you pair the phone and open the serial connection from the computer to
the phone (as if you wanted to synchronise) using the SE software, then set
up a dummy connection on the phone, it will allow you to use the connection.
Simple as that.
AIUI the connection through to the software is actually made with PPP over
serial, so I'm not even sure if it was intended to work or whether it was
just a useful bonus.
With Opera it works without even needing any settings, but with the email
client you'll need to create a dummy GPRS account which has no settings to
use.

so what handles the routing? the SE software on the host machine? suppose
the host machine is already behind NAT - does it still work?

Yes, it works. The SE software is the same as the Nokia mRouter actually.

Well, the connection is via Serial, and the SE software will accept a PPP
connection. In terms of functionality it'll work the same, except that
there's a bit of software in the middle that wouldn't be needed if using the
BT LAN Access. You're right, would be good to have LAN Access and connection
could be to another computer or BT LAN Access Point (very handy these
things).

Re: P800 use PCs LAN for net access
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem, cos whenever I tried to connect
my P800 thru the docking to my PC (WinXP), the mRouterRuntime MFC
Application error page would come up and the connection fails!
Your help is very much appreciated, it's buggering me for weeks! thanks!
