    I want to have my P800 upgraded but bought the phone from someone on ebay
    and so I have no proof of purchase :-( I cannot get in touch with the guy to
    get the prrof so does anyone have any ideas how i can get it done? I'm in
    the UK in Salisbury. Emailed the support people but they weren't much help
    all told

    You could pay someone to do it. There are places out there cheaper than your
    local service centre but the only problem is you may have to send the phone
    off to them.

    Unfortunately this is one of the problems of Ebay, along with stolen phones
    etc etc....

    Most Service centres dont require a receipt as the phone only came out in
    Jan.
    I recently had my phones firmware upgraded by Premiere Eurocom, in Langley,
    (near Slough).

    You don't need your receipt, just pop in and they will do it while you wait.

    Search for Premiere Eurocom on Google.
