Apparently java programs can't be used to control the IR port of the T610
because java isn't capable of controlling the IR port.
What it we was to connect an ir led to the bottom connector of the phone
scomehow, could java control it then?
I obviously don't mean connect it straight to it, but u know what im
getting
at!

You *could* make a bluetooth (serial) connection to a PC, which in
turn had a IR dongle on it which would fire off the requisite IR
command to the TV.
This would be trivial to get the menu's on the phone, but would
obviously require a computer to be on and have an IR dongle. Custom
software would also be required on the PC. Madness, bascially - but
definitely possible.
The O2 XDA also springs to mind - this would definitely be able to do
what you need with existing software (as may the P800/900) but I don't
think the range would really be up to it.
However, would it not be much easier to just buy a OneForAll remote -
or similar? Wave byebye to your 5 other remotes... I got a Kameleon
and am very pleased with it.
