T68i Wont talk to XP Laptop?

I have just got a new Sony Ericsson T68i and cant get it to talk to my
XP Laptop.

My Palm will happily talk to my T68i - ie the Palm can make the phone
dial a number, browse the internet and send SMS etc etc, and my Laptop
can talk to my Palm OK - ie I can do a hot sync via IR.

....But my Laptop refuses to talk to my phone!

Every so often my Laptop says 'T68i in in range' but wont transfer
images and wont keep it in range very long.

Do I need to install/configure anything special to get this to work?

Try reducing the connection speed of your laptops IR port. (To about 57kbps)
