    Hi there,

I own a P800 and had iSync hickups all the time. Device not found, lost
    connection, etc.. Frustrating.
Just a minute ago I discovered the "Bluetooth Utility" within Apples
Utilities, it seems to be new in Panther, I had not seen it before.
I played with it a bit, and saw that I could change the connection from
Modem to RS-232 for my "Bluetooth-PDA-Sync", which of course means the P800.

I restarted the Mac afterwards due to a security update. When starting
the adressbook now, it automatically connects to the P800, I do not have
to click the button anymore (okay, most of the time :/). I also used
iSync three times in a row with some dummy-changes to my dates &
contacts - no hickups, no lost connection. iSync also seems to be a tad
    faster than before.

While this may just be a coincidence, it might also be a major hint.
Maybe you want to give it a try.

    Oliver

You will find that you have the same problem when using a Windows PC and
the P800 over bluetooth. It's not a Mac problem but a P800 problem

    It's always been there though.

This has nothing to do on how iSync talks to your phone. Just a way to
use the P800 has a standard modem for example (not GPRS)

There is a problem with bluetooth on the P800. MacOS 10.2.8 improved
things a bit, but the problem is still there.
Basically, when iSync can't talk to your phone you can do 2 things:
1-Turn off your phone and restart it again
2-Re-pair your phone between the Mac and the P800.
