I was doing some GPRS browsing and when I went to download some pics to the
phone, even though I can see the "thumbnails", when I try to view the full
image size it says:
"This image is not available for your phone. Please try another image."
Anyone got any ideas why?
2nd question, on my t68i, say I had 30 nmaes stored under the letter "s", I
could find these quickly by hoding the joystick to the right and then I was
able to enter the full name or several letters ie "sha", is there any way of
doing this on teh Z600 cos I have been unable to figure it out?
3rd question - are there any good resources on email setup. I have setup all
parameters to access my blueyonder acct but am unable to download - I am
reasonably technical so I understand how to configure the settings e.g. POP3
server, incoming mail server and outgoing via vizavvia but it still wont
work. I am using the standard Vodafone GORS profile which I downloaded and
use for GPRS browsing.

There doesn't seem to be an equivalent method for this. The closest
method is to hit the down cursor, select an initial letter with the
keypad then scroll through. The scrolling seems a bit faster than on the
68i but granted if you have 30 S names that's still going to be a pain.

Have you tried the e-mail 'configurator' on the Sony Ericsson website?
Personally I've never needed it but it's supposed to send all relevant
settings as an auto-install SMS once you've entered all details on the
website. Blueyonder is one of the options for UK ISPs.

Yep, thats what I thought. I did try contacting SE about it but they mailed
me after 2 months to say they had lost the details of teh case number, think
I'll phone them about it but I dont hold out much hope.

I have indeed, but when I connect to email, it seems to connect to the
server and then it says "cannot find server". I am presuming this is the
outgoing mail server as you cannot normally relay mails from another ISP.
However even when I change this to the vizavvi server, it still doesnt work,
no idea why.

You say you're on Vodafone whodetect the phone type with their Live service
and won't download anything to a Z600, though it works fine with a T610
which, to all intents and purposes, is the same phone (Even the Live icons
don't show - just the text labels - as on the T68i). If it's not Vodafone
you're having trouble with then I guess whoever it is is doing the same
check. The Z600 is not an "approved" Live phone !
Hope this helps

I see, so you reckon in a few months when it is an approved live phone, I
should be able to see the pictures?

If it becomes an approved Live phone then yes. Discussions on Esato.com
suggest this won't happen in the UK even though it is available as a Live
phone in other European countries. Very strange.

Go into "edit shortcuts" and add "call contact" as position 1 and save.
Then a press of the left arrow will display the call contact screen, where
you can enter a whole string of letters to search by

Cheers, I was hoping there was another way because I use the left shortcut
to swop profiles. I suppose the call contact is mre useful in that slot
though. with my t68i, I set the left joystick to change profile and the
right joystick to call contacts (I think position 2 on the t68i shortcuts
was right joystick).
