    A couple of weeks ago I deleted all of settings in readiness to sell my
    Accompli, as I have now replaced it with a Tungsten W.

    Since deleting the settings, the Accompli will not charge on the desktop
    charger. In fact as soon as I place it in the bay, it automatically
    switches itself off (but does not go into charge mode).

    The only way I can now charge the battery is if I physically remove it from
    the Accompli, and place it in the battery slot on the desktop charger.

    Has this unit developed a problem, or have I simply changed a setting that I
    shouldn't have.

    Any help appreciated.

    try a master clear (again)
    It might be you connected a wrong/other charger to harger base (If I
    remember well it should be a 1.1A current-
