I have a V60S (sometims called a V60IS) from Verizon Wireless. I
bought Fone Data Suite (cable + S/W). The cable works fine, as it
charges the phone. I have a driver installed that sets up the phone as
COM5 and allows my laptop to see the phone as a modem to get wireless
internet access. This works great.
But the real reason I bought this is to manage my large phonebook.
But, when running the Handset Manager program it just sits there
saying "Trying to connect to the handset...". What's the likely
problem here? When I select "Interface Setup", it shows the port as
COM5, but the selection is dimmed so it doesn't seem to be taken.
Alternatively, does anyone else know another simple program to
upload/download the phonebook as a .csv file?

I use a little freeware program called Bitpim to manage all of the data
(phonebook, ringers, pictures, etc) on my LG VX6000. I hear that it also
works on some of the Motorola phones. I know for a fact that it can import
CSV files but don't know if it'll work for sure on your phone. It's worth a
trial anyhow. Also check in the device manager (if you're on the Windows
98/ME/2000/XP platform) under ports and see if the port for the phone is
listed there.
