On the V551, settings, in-call-settings, my caller id, next call only, Hide
    or Show ID.

In the "recent calls" listing, it remembers which way it was set for that
call, but I don't know if you can store the number with that preference
    remembered.

If that was a feature you used often, you could assign a shortcut to it
by holding the menu key for a few seconds when you are at the "next call
    only" screen.

or when you have picked your number from the phonebook and have scrolled to it and its highlighted, before you would normally press send to dial, hit the menu key and choose hide for next call only. The stock phone will only give you the next call option. If you want your number blocked for all calls by default, like I do, you can either add the feature with a seem edit or you can use motokit or p2ktools to add the feature.

Menu: Settings: In-Call Setup: My Caller ID should get you there. If
it's not there you can turn it on with a simple SEEMS edit.

Re: witholding your number with V3 razor

Read everything here: http://www.xlr8.us/hofo/ and also see
www.motomodders.net and www.howardforums.com. SEEMS are the files in
your phone that define how it will work. There are settings for volume,
menu items, features and graphics. You can turn on or off what you want
and even activate new features. Read and ask questions before editing
SEEMS as you can screw up your phone if you're not careful. Even if you
do screw up (as I did once) you can still recover your phone and keep it
from becoming a doorstop. There are several good programs to make SEEMS
    editing easier.
