Ok, I must be missing something! All I want to do, is put some pictures of
my daughter on my cell phone (Cingular T720). Is it really this hard? I
haven't purchased a cable yet, because what I seem to be reading is this
will not help. Yea, you can over write the files that are in the phone if
you download a program called PST bla bla bla. I have tried to e-mail a
picture 120 X 160 256 color gif, but received nothing but trash. Please
    HELP!

If you can download pictures from the web, then have someone put the
picture on the web, then download it from there. I have T-mobile (which
sucks, and yes, I bash T-Mobile every chance I get until they fix my
phone), but at least it allows me to download pictures that way.

Goto www.matrixm.com and you can upload a picture to them and then download
it off the internet on your phone. They charge 49 cents, but that's the
only place I know so far.

you can upload from your computer and download on the phone, all it costs is
air/web time on your phone. I have done this and it works really well.

    Re: Another junk site www.cooltones.com

For the life of me, I have no idea why site owners do this. If we go to
www.cooltones.com (which I don't recommend), you will see it is just
another site that is trying to suck money out of you for ringtones. Not
only is this just another money sucking site, the webmaster also tries
to send a few illegal cookies to your computer.

    ------- Warning message------------------------------------------
The server tried to set and illegal cookie. The combination of the
server's hostname and the domain attribute for this cookie is not
acceptable, and the cookie has therefore been rejected. You might want
to ask the site's Webmaster to set legal cookies.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I wish Webmasters and people like Tim Weis would stop playing games. I
see NO WHERE on here where the person who posted the origional message
could upload a picture of his daughter, then download it.

Hopefully if enought people complain, this newsgroup will be free of
    stuff like this.

    Re: Another junk site www.cooltones.com

    Tom,

    I feel compelled to reply.

1st - Why do you consider the "legal payment" for licensed material -
sucking money out of people. Cooltones has chosen to legally license
its content from Ascap, BMI, RIAA and other legal entities. There are
some people who believe in paying others for their intelectual
property. Look at how well the Apple tunes store has done. Given an
easy, cheap method of paying for content, users will pay.

2nd - We also make very clear our terms of use, our privacy policy and
such on our "Legal" page. We are not trying to hide anything. Nor are
    we playing any games.

3rd - I never told the individual he could transfer his picture
through our website. I just let him know that we have other graphics
    available for his phone.

4th - I am interested to know who determinees what an "illegal cookie
is". I am not on the techincal staff for the web site. I would be
happy to pass along any helpful information you have about what
    determines an "illegal" cookie.

    Re: Another junk site www.cooltones.com

    Tom,

I have done some looking into your "illegal" cookie objection. My
understanding is that an illegal cookie warning can be caused when a
website tries to set a cookie that differs from the domain in which
    the visitor is currently visiting.

For example if you are visitng cooltones.com and the cookie we are
trying to set includes the domain nreach.com. Some browsers (like
Opera) will consider this an illegal cookie simply because the two
    domians do not match.

At cooltones - The address in the browser window does reflect that we
are operating off nreach.com servers for some of our content. Again -
we are not trying to hide anything.

As for being free of stuff like this - You will notice I did not mass
post to the cellular groups, nor did I post way off topic (original
topic was putting graphics on T720 phone) as do other posters.

I hope these replies address your concerns with cooltones.com.

    Tim Weis
