Actually there is a new site going up that allows you to send
Ringtones (MIDI files) directly to your cellphone via text messaging.
It is under construction but the FREE TRIAL works.

http://www.itsmycellphone.com

POLYPHONIC ONLY! Need to be WAP (browse) able.

And you can send graphics/wallpaper to your phone too.

Apparently you search the internet for MIDI files, download them onto
your PC, if necessary edit them for size (depending on your phone),
and send them to your phone from this site.

Although there are great MIDI search engines, I found a site with
about 900 ringtones READY TO GO:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peterel...1/MID%20Files/

You need the tones on your PC in MIDI format. For Nokia phones they
have to be <10 Kb.

Sprint Users are SOL until they get it working for the PCS phones.

If your MIDI file is too large, you can download a MIDI EDITOR to cut
them off to make it fit on your phone at
http://www.mobikiss.com/have/psmp380e.zip.

Apparently ITSMYCELLPHONE.COM is going to post their own MIDI editor
on the site.
